Photographer of the Year Award

Sponsor: Created by the Board of Directors in 2025 to recognize members who enter many images in the PRPA competitions and win a lot of ribbons.

Deadline: Individual Members who enter PRPA competitions are automatically eligible for this award

Conditions: Points are awarded based on the number of ribbons earned during the year

  • 5 First place ribbon (including “Best of …” in Everest and Gerry Fish competitions)

  • 3 Second

  • 2 Third

  • 1 Honorable Mention

The Slideshow Competition (held in June) and the Outing Competition (judged in the fall) will be counted in the following year’s score. Since the award was announced after the 2025 Outing, the slideshow and outing competitions are not included in the 2025-26 year total, for this year only.

Judging: The total scores are calculated and the winner selected by the Competitions Coordinator at the end of the membership year.

Awards: Certificate and a check for $100. This award is presented at the Annual Outing at the end of the awards presentation.
